Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Euro-CNS Deep Learning platform at deeplearning.euro-cns.org (the "Platform"). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Who we are

ClearCode .Net Solutions develops and operates the Platform. Educational content on the Platform is contributed by Euro-CNS and its partner institutions and instructors.

2. What the Platform does

The Platform provides online pathology education, including:

• courses, lessons and teaching cases;
• a viewer for whole slide images, with annotation and measurement tools;
• an optional AI Tutor on selected cases (section 7);
• embedded interactive exercises supplied by connected external tools;
• discussion, collaboration and progress tracking.

Individual features may be added, changed or withdrawn. We will not remove a feature you are actively relying on without reasonable notice where we can avoid it.

3. Who may use it

To use the Platform you must:

• be at least 16 years old;
• be a medical professional, student or educator in pathology or a related field, or otherwise have been given access by a course owner;
• give accurate registration details, including your real name and professional status;
• keep your account credentials to yourself.

Accounts are personal. Do not share your login. If you believe someone else has used your account, tell us at info@clearcode.nl.

4. Accounts and access to courses

You can register with an email address and password, or sign in with a Google or Microsoft account. Course access is granted in one of three ways: a course may be open for you to enrol yourself, it may be invitation-only, or it may be restricted to accounts we add manually. Enrolment in one course does not grant access to others.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used to redistribute course material, or that puts the Platform or other users at risk. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.

You may close your account at any time by writing to us.

6. Patient data and de-identification

Do not upload or enter names, dates of birth, hospital or pathology accession numbers, addresses, or any other detail that could identify a patient — including identifiers burned into a slide label or image. Where you are acting for an institution, you are responsible for having the lawful basis and any ethical approval needed to share the material at all.

If you find identifiable material on the Platform, tell us at info@clearcode.nl and we will remove it.

7. The AI Tutor

Selected cases offer an AI Tutor you can discuss the case with. Using it is optional. By using it you accept that:

• Your messages leave the Platform. What you write, the conversation so far, and the teaching material for the case are sent to an external AI provider in order to generate a reply. The Privacy Statement names the provider and sets out exactly what is sent.
• It can be wrong. The tutor is a language model. It can be confidently incorrect, miss findings, or invent a citation. Treat everything it says as material for discussion, never as an authority.
• Do not put patient data or personal information in it. Section 6 applies in full.
• Fair use limits apply. There is a cap on how much you can use the tutor per day. We may adjust it, and we may withdraw the tutor from a case or from the Platform.
• Do not try to extract the hidden case material. The tutor holds the teaching answer for each case. Attempting to make it reveal that material verbatim, or to bypass its instructions, defeats the exercise and is a breach of these terms.

We ask separately whether we may keep your chat history, and you can delete a conversation at any time. See the Privacy Statement for what that choice does.

8. Intellectual property

8.1 Educational content

Courses, cases, whole slide images, teaching notes and other educational material on the Platform are the intellectual property of Euro-CNS, its contributing institutions, instructors or licensors. Your enrolment gives you a personal, non-transferable right to study that material on the Platform. It does not transfer any ownership.

8.2 The Platform software

The Platform software itself — its source code, architecture, user interface and image-processing components — was created by and remains the intellectual property of ClearCode .Net Solutions (Chris Honselaar), and is made available to Euro-CNS under licence. It is not transferred with, or included in, any content licence.

8.3 What you contribute

You keep ownership of the annotations, posts, comments and case material you contribute. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce and display that content on the Platform for the purpose of running it and delivering the education. If you contribute a case or slide, you confirm you are entitled to do so and that it is de-identified.

8.4 What you may not do

• download, copy or redistribute course material outside the Platform without permission;
• use automated tools to scrape, bulk-download or mirror content;
• share your account, or give access to people who are not entitled to it;
• reverse engineer the Platform, or attempt to extract its source code;
• use the Platform or its content commercially without a written agreement;
• attempt to gain access to accounts, data or areas of the Platform that are not yours.

9. Conduct

In discussions and shared spaces, you agree to:

• use the Platform for lawful, educational purposes;
• be professional and respectful towards other users;
• not post offensive, discriminatory, harassing or otherwise inappropriate content;
• not misrepresent your identity, credentials or affiliation;
• respect the confidentiality of case discussions and of other learners' work.

10. Connected external tools

Some lessons embed exercises hosted by external providers over the LTI 1.3 standard. When you open one, the Platform passes that provider your name, email address, user identifier and course role, and the provider may report a score back. Those exercises run on the provider's systems and are subject to the provider's own terms and privacy statement. We are not responsible for the content or availability of external tools.

11. Fees and payment

Access to courses on this installation is currently provided without charge, through self-enrolment, invitation or institutional arrangement. The Platform supports paid enrolment, and where a course is offered for a fee, the price, currency and any access period will be stated at the point of enrolment before you commit. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor; we never receive or store your full card details.

Where you buy access as a consumer in the EU you have a statutory right of withdrawal within 14 days. Specific refund terms will be stated at the point of purchase.

12. Availability

We aim to keep the Platform available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may take it down for maintenance, and we may have to interrupt it to deal with a security problem. The Platform depends on third-party services — cloud storage, an AI provider, external tools — whose availability is outside our control.

13. Liability

The Platform is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or lost profits or opportunity.

In particular, and without limitation, we are not liable for any clinical decision, diagnosis or patient outcome influenced by Platform content or by the AI Tutor. Section 5 applies.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

14. Privacy

Our Privacy Statement explains what personal data we process and why, and forms part of these terms.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give notice on the Platform and update the date above. If you continue to use the Platform after a change takes effect, you accept the revised terms; if you do not agree, you may close your account.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, without prejudice to any mandatory right you have as a consumer to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
